Blueberry Baby
I think it's funny how so many baby sites compare the size of your growing baby to a fruit or vegetable. According to one site I regularly use, #2 is the size of a blueberry right now. It always blows my mind when I think about how a baby develops - it's just amazing.
I feel pretty similar to how I felt when I was pregnant with Olivia at this point. I've had to go on progesterone again and I will say that I think it is effecting me more this time as far as making me more tired. I can't blame it all on having a nearly-two-year-old running around. I also have had a bit more nausea. With Olivia it was more of a gerneral feeling all the time but not too severe. With this baby it has been okay most of the time, but definitely worse between 3:00-7:00PM. Ginger snaps seem to really help, but it's hard to keep Olivia from eating them all. She LOVES them! I've had an increase in nightmares like I did with Olivia. I haven't stopped reading mysteries yet, but it may only be a matter of time.
By this point in my pregnancy with Olivia we had already had an ultrasound. This was not standard procedure, but because they thought I was having a miscarriage. I am anxiously awaiting our first peek at this new little one. I think we will get to see #2 in about 3 1/2 weeks.
It's funny that I've been calling and thinking of this baby as #2. Up until the time I got pregnant we always referred to our next child as Samuel or Sammy because that is the baby boy name that I have loved forever (we even said maybe "Sammie" for a girl). For some reason though almost as soon as I got pregnant I stopped thinking this way. I have no idea why. Perhaps the name just isn't meant to be.
Please continue praying for an uneventful and full-term pregnancy. Next week: kidney bean!
